Walk for Our Children 2011

24th July 2011

The event, organized by Singapore Children’s Society, is to help the underprivileged youth of Singapore. The theme of the year was ‘Sweet Dreams’ and the event was attended by Senior Minister of State, Grace Fu.

Starbucks partners woke up bright and early to take part in the event’s carnival. We set up a Starbuck Coffee booth and sold iced coffee and tea to refresh the walkers. All proceeds were donated to Singapore Children’s Society. We also greatly enjoyed ourselves as we walked down the Marina Barrage, and bonded together as the Starbucks family.

Gracehaven Veinte Uno Birthday Bash Fund Raising Carnival

25th June 2011

On Saturday, Gracehaven, a subsidiary of The Salvation Army whom is a long time CSR partner of Starbucks, celebrated their 21st anniversary.

The event was graced by the local MP and even the US navy seals! We were delighted to join in the cheer and set up our very own Starbucks® Frappuccino® Cart at the carnival to help raise funds for the home. Amidst the cooking of food, singing, dancing and games, we sold a total of 300 cups and raised $1,800 for Gracehaven in less than 5 hours!

Starbucks is honoured to be involved in Gracehaven’s mission to help the young get back on the right track and to return home to his/her family.

Hearts @ Darul MA’WA

9th April 2011

Together, partners from 4 different stores came together to take the children of Jamiyah Children’s Home on an eye-opening field trip.

Starting the day at the Singapore Police Heritage Center, there were many fun-filled, hands-on activities that stimulated the minds of the young ones. The team further taught the children the value of good money management during their lunch break. The day was rounded off at Starbucks Coffee at Suntec Mall. There, the children used their newly gained knowledge to win special treats at Starbucks during a Pop Quiz.

In their final reflection, we asked the children ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ That day, many hopes and dreams were expressed. We hope that the day has given the children courage to achieve their dreams and it was as special a day for them, as it was for us.

Pray for Japan

31st March 2011

On March 11 2011, Japan was hit by a tsunami. At Starbucks, we are greatly saddened by this unforeseen tragedy.

In order to raise funds for Japan, Starbucks Singapore held a merchandise sale over a 2-day period. Combined with internal fundraising, we donated over $22,000 to the Japan Relief Efforts through the Starbucks Foundation.

We want to thank everyone, including our partners, as we all came together to help our neighbours in need.

Pray for Japan.

Let’s Take a Walk 2010

18th December 2010

On Saturday night, through to Sunday, many of our partners put their endurance, mental strength, and very importantly, leg muscles, to the test.

Let’s Take a Walk 2010 is an overnight charity endurance walkathon in aid of the underprivileged youth of Singapore. This year, the beneficiaries included youth from Boy’s Town and Raleigh Society.

Together, our partners formed various teams and took part in the grueling 50km Power Walk, and the seemingly insurmountable 100km Extreme Walk. There was a great sense of accomplishment (and relief) as we crossed the finish line, knowing that we had truly walked the talk.
