Christmas Open House 2008
(4 Dec 08)

Bringing close to 29,000 people together to raise funds for a charity organization – Sounds amazing, doesn't it? But that's exactly what we did on 4th December 2008. Not only did we garner the people, our baristas churned out nearly 29,000 cups of tall-sized beverages and raised over $41,000 for The Salvation Army and their beneficiaries within just two hours!

"The Salvation Army is grateful that even in the midst of an economic downturn, Starbucks has once again led the way in giving back to the community. They have a wonderful team with boundless enthusiasm for this cause. We treasure this long-standing partnership and hope that others will be inspired to contribute to the needy. This fund raiser is definitely of timely help in bridging the gap and meeting the needs of the less fortunate," said Major Bob Lee, Principal and Director of William Booth College of Mission, The Salvation Army.

A Big "Thank You" to all customers who supported us at Starbucks Christmas Open House 2008 and not forgetting all our partners for the effort in making a difference on that day and touching the lives of many in our community.
