Say Yes to Waste Less

Learn ways to limit your carbon footprint with every visit to Starbucks.

At Starbucks, we constantly push ourselves to reduce the environmental footprint of our operations. As part of our ongoing efforts, we’ve developed paper bags made with 95% post-consumer fibre, napkins of 100% recycled content, to-go plastic cups made with recycled PET, take-away cutlery made with biodegradable corn ware and installed LED lights in all our outlets to save energy. On top of that, we've also introduced strawless lids for selected drinks and have compostable straws made of CPLA (corn starch-based material), in stores.

Join us, in making a difference for the environment. Here some ways you can be kinder to our planet on your next trip to Starbucks.

For here or to go?

One can save trees, together we can save forests. Let our baristas know that you will be enjoying your drink in-store, and opt for our “for here” porcelain mugs when you visit us.

Take only what you need

Reduce wastage of straws, stoppers, napkins, stirrers and more, by taking only what you need. Disposable cutlery for take-away orders will be provided upon request.

Cut down on paper bags

Instead of paper bags, bring along your own reusable bag on your next coffee run. Don't have one? Starbucks regularly sell tote bags and reusable bags, keep an eye out for it on your next visit.

From grounds to garden

At Starbucks, we brew lots of coffee daily, and we’re more than happy to share our excess grounds with you. Connect with our store managers to let us know about your gardening needs, and we can set aside our used coffee grinds for you.

The Starbucks Commitment

While the unique design of each store speaks of stories of the community, we commit ourselves to designing and constructing more eco-conscious stores, incorporating reused and recycled materials wherever possible.
