From used paper bag to handy wallet to store your cards and notes in.

Steps provided by Terra SG as part of the Starbucks® Rewards sustainability workshop, jointly organized with Terra SG.

Materials

  • Used paper bag
  • Scissors
  • Pen
  • Glue
  • Ruler

  1. Cut along the sides and base of the paper bag. Do the same for the other side.
  2. Open it up and you should have a T-shaped bag.

  1. Cut out the base of the paper bag.
  2. Gently remove the straps from the paper bag.
  3. Cut out the left side of the paper bag, and half of the right side.
  4. Measure 24.5cm from the base of the paper bag, and cut the remainder of the length away.
  5. You should be left with a rectangle measuring 31cm (width) by 24.5cm (height).

  1. Fold both sides of the bag into the middle to create a 2 clear crease lines. You should have 3 crease lines in total, including the middle.
  2. Make a 2.5cm slit on both the top and bottom of the crease lines. There should be 6 slits in total.

  1. Fold the left side of the paper bag into the third crease line.
  2. Fold the paper bag down into half.
  3. Look for the thickest closed corner of the paper bag.
  4. Measure 3cm from the corner, and cut diagonally on it.
  5. When you open the paper bag up, you should have a diamond-shaped hole in the middle.

  1. Fold the flaps created from the slits on the 2nd and 4th segment down from each side of the paper bag.
  2. Fold both sides of the paper bag into the middle.
  3. Fold the paper bag into half. When flipped over, you should have a long rectangle with the diamond-shaped hole in the middle.

  1. Trim off the corners on both sides of the paper bag wallet.
  2. You should have all 4 corners trimmed.
  3. With the diamond side facing you, tuck the front flap of the wallet into the back, and glue it in.
  4. Repeat for the flap at the back.
  5. Do the same for the flaps on the other side of the paper bag wallet, and you are done!
